OAMARU.

Last night

It is probable that Mr John Reid will retire in favour of Mr D. Sundorland. Rumours are current to that effect. Mr Reid is one of the Commissioners on railway matters, and this may prevent his being able to address the electors. Mr Roberts expressed his determination not to retire in favor of Mr George Jones junior, and the contest will very likely be left to Messrs Roberts and Sutherland, unless Mr Jones comes forward to oppose Mr Roberts in the Liberal interest.
