MOANATAIRI.

The manager has proved by means of the winze that the reef in Creek level is going down much the same value as in the drive, and the manager expects to pickup the run of gold in this working after sinkiug a few feet further. There is a slight improvement noticeable in the appearance of the reef in tunnel. With the completion of several works that have been in progress several good sized blocks are now ready for working in different parts of the mine. The manager's weekly report is as follows: — " Point Russell section. There is ho change in drive at creek level. The winze is now down 8 feet, and we have stoped along bottom of level for a distance 12 feet east of winze and find the reef is going down much about the same value as above, viz., 2ozs per ton. Stopin^ is at present suspended, and we have resumed sinking, us I think the run of gold will dip into .winze in another 8 or 10 feet. Tunnel level—The only change to mention in big reef is that some good stones of mundic have been broken out. ■80 feet level—ln driving cross-cut west, another leader 3 inches thick has been intersected. The cross cut will be pushed further ahead before driving on this leader. There is no change to notice in the stopes, and large sections of ground are now opened up in readiness for : working above 80 feet tunnel, and 133 feet levels. During past fortnight 340 tons of stuff, including 2 cwt of picked stone has been crashed yielding 2480zs retorted gold."—l am, etc., KoBBBT Comer.
