The Knowsley Hall. A bottle has been found on the beach at Portland containing a paper signed by John Webster dated February 23rd, 1880, stating that the ship Knowsley Hall was wrecked on the Crozets, and that all on board perished except three, who are destitute, and are subsisting on fish. Doubls are generally expressed as to the authenticity of the message. Sydney, This day. Sunday Lectures. A crowded meeting held last night adopted the resolutions denouncing certain clauses in the new Licensing Bill, which are. calculated to suppress Sunday lectures. The Hon. Bowie Wjlsonwasin the chair, and D. Buchanan, M.L.A., and Charles Bright, the Freethought lecturer, and the Rev. J. Dowie spoke at the meeting. ■
Mr J. E. Dibbs, the defendant in the great slander case, has been arrested, and his furniture attached for payment of Mr Shepherd's costs.
_ A meeting has been held to initiate the Meat Freezing Company with a capital of £100,OCO. •
Brisbane, This day. A meeting was held here yesterday for the purpose of starting a Meat Freezing Company, towards which £50,000 has already been subscribed.' •-•■••
