Last night

W. F. Neillson, well-known in cricketing and sporting circles, died yesterday. He has been extremely ill for some time, and his death has been daily expected for some-weeks past.

A young inaa named Patrick Mullens in the employ of a farmer at Greenpath, was driving two horses and a dray from Qhristchurch on Saturday, and when passing the Junction hotel at Hatswell, the leading horse swerved;. Mullens jumped down to turn him,, when he tripped and fell; one wheel passed over his head killing him instantaneously.
