Earl Cowper has been appointed LordLieatenant of Ireland, and Lord O'Hagan has been appointed Lord Chancellor of Ireland. . j London, May Ist. j At the wool sales to-day 19,600 bales ' were offered, making a total of 111,200' catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale is quieter and weaker. For inferior and for faulty wool the demand is purely speculative. The Orient Company's Lusitania tailed for Plymouth to-day. I London, April 30. Adelaide wheat, per 4961b5, ex warehouse, 523. At the wool sale to-day, 12,000 bales were offered, making a total of 94,400 bales catalogued since the opening. Tone of market in favour of buyers.
Search having been made for the training ship Atalanta, no further trace of her could be found.
