GISBORNE.
This day
Since the new trustees in Bead's estate arrived here about three weeks ago, negotiations havo been going on between them aud Wi Pere and Eees who represent the natives with a view to the settlement of long pending disputes,. and litigation regarding land titles in Bead's estate. Yesterday a large meeting of natives was held, at which ,Coleman, Wi Pere and Itees spoke, the latter announcing that a fair and amicable settlement of all the long contested cases had been arrived at and there would be no further litigation. This announcement has caused general satisfaction in the district, and it is believed that the other disputed case of title will be similarly dealt with.
