WAIOTAHI.

Remunerative operations are proceeding in the No. 4 stopes at No. 3 level, and on the various stopes at No. 2. The main bodies of quartz in the latter are now nearly all exhausted, but there yet remain to work a number of stringers and small leaders. For some time past the energies of the manager have been principally, devoted to the connection of the Nos. 2 and' 3 levels by means of a long winze. This has now holed through to No. 3, (not to No. 2 as stated elsewhere), and will greatly assist in the development of the No. 3 level, from which the quartz supply will be chiefly obtained in future. The manager intends to prospect the Waiotahr big lode from this level.
