, Last night. The action in the Supreme Court to set aside the sale of the Wellington tramway is not likely to conclude until tomorrow.
The Colouiul Secretary returned from the South to-day. The Colonial Treasurer leaves for Taranaki to -night for a short holiday. This day. Attempted Suicide. A woman named McLaggan attempted to commit suicide at noon, by throwing herself off the breastwork. She was rescued by a constable and taken to the police statiou at Paltnerston North. Alexander Cameron, a settler in the Ngamakarau, a well-known man in the district, was this morning committed for trial for selling bullocks given him to graze. He was also committed on another charge of embezzling money belonging to the name prosecutor, Mr McOonway. Turakino will be heard this afternoon.
