This'afternoon. J. C, Young's Case. At the Supreme Court to-dayi J. C. Young was charged with embezzling £51, the property of the Government. Mr Brookfield prosecuted, and Messrs Heaketh and Tyler defended. Churton is now under examination. Ellerslie Cup. The entries for the Ellerslie Cup are : —Xantippe, Maid of Honor, Malvern, Yatapa, Golden Crown, Laertes, Soukar, Numa, Ariel, Saunterer, Vampire, Eesolution, King Quail, Gilderoy, Libeller, j Mr Oliver,., in reply to a deputation relative to the Cambridge branch railway, said he would recommend the matter to the' Commission.
