(To the Editor of the Evbnihg Stab.) Sib,—The ethics of respectable jour, nalism generally prevent the insertion of anything in a newspaper attempting to prejudice a case subjudice, but this ii not understood by your morning contemporary, who in his anxiety to fill his columns with something that does not require an expenditure of his own brain power, constantly allows a certain person, who may be described as, zinc 28 parts, copper 72 parts (these are the proportions of the soft article, capable of being drawn out) to supply paragraphs and hii own version of matters yet to be brought before the Courts. I maintain this toT>e very disgraceful conduct, equally contemptible in the informer and journalist, and hope at some time to direct the attention of the Judges and Magistrates to it with a view to its prohibition. With reference to the paragraph about the present case, it need only be said," Wkat is true is not new, and what is new if not true. —I am, &c,
CONTIA.
