SIR, —It is indeed to be regretted that the County Council will continually interfere in Borough matters, the result of their last efforts having been the election, by a majority of one, of Mr Wilkinson, who by his irritable disposition proves; daily his^ unfitness for the position of Borough Councillor. To my surprise, after receiving a severe rebuke for using improper language and swearing at the Ceunoil meeting on Monday,'this: unruly personage had again to be called to order-yes* terday, and. only after the Councillors had plainly shown their disapproval of his conduct could he be induced to a»Bume the outward appearance of a gentleman. Let me recommend Mr Wilkinson in future to rid himself of his bile outside the Council Chambers, and when there to attend to those duties for which he was elected. Should he find this incompatible with his peculiar disposition, then it would clearly be his duty to resign the trust he is unable to fulfil.—l am, &c, 449 Ratepayer.
