VICTORIA.
Mr Bayldon is busily engaged preparing the working plan of the mine, and after a directors' meeting, to be held shortly, work will be commenced on the Vale of Avoca lode, which Mr Mcllhariey is confident will prove remunerative. The company starts under most favourable auspices, there being £400 in the exchequer, resulting from the sale of promoters' shares. This principle of devoting the share money—which usually goes into the pockets of the promoters— to tKe working of the mine is a most commendable one, and shows that the originators are earnest in their desire to give the ground a trial.
