The English Elections.
Large Liberal majority.
London, April 5.
The returns of elections so far known show that 271 Liberals and 141 Conservatives hare been elected, showing a j majority of 130 to the Liberal party. The total number of seats gained by the latter is 59, and their majority is already sufficient to make them quito independent of the support of the Home Kule Party. It is generally thought to be qvite
probable that Mr Gladstone will not accept office should the Liberals come into power. Bomb at, April 5. The Afghan War. A report has reached here from Cabul that Mohamed Jan, leader of the Afghan tribes at Ghuznee, has been killed.
