Yatapa cut out the running, and j . led past the. stand, Ariel second, Gilderoy third, Golden Crown fourth, the rest in a cluster close up. With variations of only a few inches, this position was maintained for a mile and a half, when Golden Crown improved the pace to snch an extent as to make it too hot for the heavier weights behind. Turning into the straight, Malvern came up in his usual game style under the whip, Yatapa was outpaced, Gilderoy a Rood third. Golden Crown passed the judge's box a length ahead of Malvern. I
