MOANATAIRI.

! The following is, the manager's weekly report:—" Since driving was resumed at creek level 220 feet^kw been driven east on the reef\_amt from the last 27 feet we hay& obtained 17 tons of stuff, yielding 78ozs amalgam.—The reef novr in face is much split up, and has every appearance of forming into a mullocky lode. We are also working on a branch leader striking off from old stopes, which will, I believe, prove payable. 12 tons 0f...----this stone is now iv iand and gull be forwarded to battery during ne&iort* • night. Tunnel Level: There is no change in driving east on big reef. The quartz is much crystalised, and contains very little mineral of any sort. The Nonpareil cross-cut has been extended 17 feet this week, and the country is favour* able for driving, the bar through which we are passing being full of joibts'and faces. 80 feet level: The drive west iv No. 2 slide has been extended 35 feet this fortnight. We are now pushing the drive forward so as to pick up the run of ground ~ and leaders worked on about tunnel level. ''■* Intermediate level: In driving east from No. 1 winze on hanging-wall branch we are working a series of leaders and stringers from which, during fortnight, 2cwt picked stone was broken. I may remark the gold is found in small patches, especially in the crossing of a clay band. Tunnel level: In driving east on the middle and footwall leaders both lOflM are poor and split up into seams of quartz. The western stopes against Kuranui boundary are now all exhausted on these different leaders, and all the other stopos are without change to mention. Daring . the past fortnight 300 tons of quarts, including 3cwt picked stone, has been treated, yielding 508£oas retorted gold.-* Hosest Coubb."
