THE PUBLIC HEALTH.
(To the Editor of the /Evehiwg Stab.) Sia,— I would ask a few pertinent questions having reference to the above : -i-lst. Is the Health of Towns Act in forcp here ? 2nd. Have we an Inspector of Nuisances ? 3rd. If so, is he doing a Bip-van-Winkle snooze, utterly oblivious of the fact that he is wanted a,bout ? -I am led to ask the above questions, as for some time there has been a standing nuisance to passers-by from the intolerable stench caused by the issuing of black liquid manure into the municipal, gutter in Eolleston street, nearly opposite the Church of England Sunday School. I think, Mr Editor, those who cause the nuisance should be taught to have some regard for the health of the neighbourhood, besides shocking the olfactory nerves of every passer-by* Hoping this hint may have the desired effect, without having resource to the beneficial decision of our worthy E.M.—I remain, &c;, ,
