The Easter Volunteer Review.

The Easter Monday Review of the Thames volunteers for 1880 bids fair to excite an amount of interest amongst the general public, ex-military men, and the volunteers themselves. It is not yet definitely known whether the entree of the Waikato Cavalry will take place on Friday or Saturday. Lieutenant Johnston of Hamilton is expected to arrive, tomorrow, he being sent as avant courier to conclude billeting and stabling arrangements for bis gallant regiment. The majority of the troopers will, we believe, be accommodated at Host Symington's, of the Governor Bowen, and at Host Curtis', of the Pacific Hotel, the officers having signified their wish to be billetted in quarters most convenient for mustering at the shortest notice. Colonel Lyon and Major Jackson will arrive with the regiment and make their head-quarters at the Bowen,

A general meeting of the Thames officers takes place to morrow night to make final arrangements for the Easter programme. We believe it has already been decided that the officers will provide a banquet for their brother- officers, and the non-commissioned officers in the tame manner will entertain their comrades of similar rank of the cavalry, the rank and file however owing to the want of a a sufficiently large hall will be unable to mess together, but will doubtless frater-

nise in a soldierly manner at their billets. Should the troopers be expected at a convenient hour for a parade, a guard .of honour will probably be detailed to receive them on their entry to the Borough.

A general Church Parade will take place next Sunday forenoon, when the churches and chapels will be undoubtedly largely attended by volunteers of the respective denominations. The programme for Easter Monday will not be decided on until a consultation of the wishes of the Cavalry officers. • The review will take place at Tararu flat, the most convenient and open spot accessible.
