BLENHEIM.

Saturday

The Warden (Mr Allen) has returned from his visit to the goldfield in the Upper Wairau .to-day. He seems to think favorably of it, and that it has not yet been sufficiently tested, but would not possibly carry a rush. He is of opinion that the Finnis Valley and other creeks in the vicinity are payable, if properly tested. All creeks are held: on a depasturing lease, and so far no arrangement has been made for prospecting. Owing to the weather prevailing, the prospectors hare suspended operations.
