Arrangements not having been settled with Messrs Brown and Campbell re their battery, it has been arranged with Mr C. J. Stone and other gentlemen in Auckland to commence operations and take the quartz to the Herald Battery. Mr E. Thomas has applied for the tunnel known as Brown and Campbell's. If the application is granted the company will have direct communication with the Tararu tram. Mr Thomas states that he will be able to keep' 20 head going from the Ist of May next. "■'. *
