Last night.
The Duaodin Tragedy.
At the City Police Court this morning in the presence of a crowded Court, Robert Butler alias Midmay alias Thomas Lees, was charged on information with the murder of James Denvar, Elizabeth Denvar, and Elizabeth Denrar, an infant, also with attempting to shoot the apprehending constable.. The police intimated that there was a third charge of arson and burglary against the prisoner, who was remanded to Monday, pending the in» quest. ' This day.
The Murder Case.
The following are the circumstances which led to the arrest of Butler for the murder of the Grant family. It appears that the prisoner, who had recently been lodging at the Scotia Hotel, within a few minutes' walk of the house of the murdered man, did not occupy his lodgings on Friday or Saturday night, but returned on Sunday morning within half an hour of the discqveiy of the murder, and after paying his bill he walked to Blueskin, changing his clothes by the way, and clipping off his moustache. When arrested he had a loaded revolver and a number of cartridges, but was secured before he ccmld aso it. He is a small, sharp-looking man under 30 years of age._ _^
