MOANATAIRI.
The manager's weekly report is as follows :—"Tunnel level, south cross-cut: Driving west has been suspended, the big reef being at present chiefly composed of carbonate of lime striking in from hangingwall on north side, and cutting off the quartz. The distance driven west is 70 feet. We have now started driving east on hanging-wall part, and the stone here looks more promising than any olher portion of the reef, being well impregnated with copper and mundic. .Nonpareil cross cut is still in tight ground, but fair progress is being made. 80 feet level: In driving west through No. 2 slide No. 1 reef is completely dislocated, and has not yet been picked up. The stopes on No. 3 reef are now 7 feet wide, consisting of a series of leaders and stringers occasionally 'showing gold. Intermediate level: In driving east on middle leader nice parcels of specimens are met with from small veins striking in different directions. The stope on hanging wall leader will be worked out in another fortnight, 150 feet in length to the bottom of tunnel level, but there is still another block east to work from No. 2 winze. Tunnel level: Driving east on fdotwall branch leader has opened up a profitable section of ground u l2O feet long, striking westward into old slopes, and after driving about 20 feet further east it will be split up by coming into contact with some barren country. The stopes throughout are looking very well, and during the past fortnight have produced 350 tons of stuff (including 3§cwt picked stone), the j yield from which is 4700zs gold.—Eobt. Comee."
