NEW WHAU.
The breaking down which was to have eventuated last Saturday waa postponed till to-day. A shot was fired in the reef this morning in the presence of two of tiie directors, and 3OOlbs of .specimens were obtained, together with 2001 bs of picked stone. Notwithstanding this splendid.haul the shares did not appear to rise, in consequence of, it is stated, one person offering scrip considerably under the ruling figure. We are informed by one of the directors that the gold is now making across the' winze, which is regarded as a favorable sign.
