This day.
Everything is quiet at the camp at Otaki, the road has been considerably straightened near the camp towards Kaupokonui, by catting across a swamp, and deep drains have been made, the whole being done in an exceedingly work of manlike manner. On the north of the camp some 60 mains are already formed towards Oeo.
The constabulary and military workmen agree with each other notwithstanding the predictions to the contrary, and the latter are rapidly becoming adepts with the longhanded shovels uuder the instructions of the former, who are exceeding by kind to their distressed .brethren.
