(Before H. Eenrick, Esq., 8.M.) SUSPECTED LUNACY.

John Butler was charged on suspioion of lunacy. Drs Payne and Kilgour deposed that the defendant was a fit subject for medical treatment. Dr Kilgour recommended that he be detained in gaol here for a short perk J. No risk would be run, as he was only idiotic and silly. The R.M. said he could not commit him to the Asylum on the medical evidence, and it would be well that the charge of vagrancy should be proceeded with.

VAOBANCY.

The defendant was then charged with vagrancy, on which charge he had been previously tried at Ohinemuri. The charge was proved against him, and he was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labor. Court adjourned.
