The New Zealand Sun speaking of the totaliaator, says:—We may give a few particulars which may be found interesting regarding the working of the one inside the enclosure at tho late Dunedin njeeting. The total amount invested in this totalisator during the day was £1522, which allowed the proprietors, who got five per cent., about £76, arid the Jockey Club, who alao got five per cent., an equal amount. Upon the Cup race, 321 Bhnres were taken up at £2 per share. Titania was credited with 101 of these, Mafca with 59, Grip 53, Libeller 37, F.oul Play 31, Betrayer 13, Atlantic 11, Camballo 7, Hornby 5, and Longlands 4. Mata winning the race, £642 less ten percent., divided by 59, gave the dividend payable to backers of Mata. Thus £9 15a was paid for every £2 invested, being an odds of nearly 5 to 1.
