Last night.
At the twelfth annual meeting of the Standard Insurance Company held to-day the report which did not recommend the payment of a dividend, was adopted. J. Keid and J. Curl were re-elected directors. •
At a meeting of the unemployed to-day a deputation was appointed to wait on Mr Stewart M.H.R., who telegraphed to the Government asking if employment could be found for men numbering about five hundred on the OtaßO centre railway.
Scarlet fever and typhoid are very rife in the city and suburbs.
