The Big Pump.
At the same time as the County Council received the telegram from Mr Stone, accepting their conditions re the Caledonian, Mr Comer received one instructing him to start the pumps at once. Steam was got up, and the pump is now speedily reducing the water at the rate of 7 strokes per minute.
