Katikati Races.

One of the best country race meetings that has been held in the province of Auckland for some time past took place at Katikati on Wednesday. The weather was all that could be desired for such an occasion. There were 500 persons present, many of whom were Thames people, and Tauranga was well represented—a large coach drawn by four splendid greys visit- , ing the course twice during the day fronv ! the East Coast metropolis. After a capital start, the first time round Penrose bolted and was out of it, Vengeance and Kclipsa running close together.
