The Caledonian Bought by the
Old Company.
A Step in the Right Direction.
We are informed by the Chairman of the County Council that after discussing on the offer made by Mr Stone, on behalf of the Caledonian Company, the following telegram was sent this morning, and we are pleased to have to chronicle that the terms offered have been accepted :— " C. J. Stone Esq., " We accept your offer of £2000 for the Caledonian Licensed Holding, with all the plant and machinery thereon, provided in the event of sale, the company will give title to the Caledonian battery and battery site without further consideration. Re Tookey mine, offer cannot be accepted. Telegram sent as letter would not reach you before Monday morning." ; "A, Bbodie." The following'reply was received :-— " A. Brodie, Esq., " On behalf of the Caledonian Company I agree to the terms of your telegram of this date. "C. J. Stone."
