This Association .is promoted.- , with the. object of securing for its-members freehold farms in the Waimate Plains (or some other, suitable- locality)' on .the most favorable terms and conditions;'with a view jojf supplying to some extent the-great/and increasing deihand for Bmall holdings for hona- file settlement. As soon as the blook is decided 1 upon, and the preliminaries arranged, it will be surveyed into sections of limited area and apportioned', by-lot or otherwise, according to rules to be agreed upon at a general'meeting of the subscribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum value of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum.value of (£400) sterling. » The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members 1 of the Association such modifications of the i land on.deferred-payment .clauses of the Land Act, 1877, aijnay- facilitate occupation , by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with .the- present provisions of those, clauses. -The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to| make provision for ample reserves for religious,- ---' educational, \ recreation;- and public-health purposes, as suggested by the, Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with the - view-of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. '-. - v The payments'.are to .be .computed on-some well* defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscrib* ing member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten percentum of the total value of the share of land he applies' for before his; application can be entertained, tod a further payment of ttfo percentum per month on said total value until such time as the.block to be applied for is acquired by the Association, and possession can be given to applicants, or until such time as the Association' shall make arrangements: with .the Govern* ment for allotting land to the-. subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two percentum do not'- extend to a farther. period than six months from date of application. ' ..-,•■ All monies received are to be paid into the. Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Asso*. ciation's account, to be opened'in the name of the.
