The long-threatening war > Imminent.
A few days to settle the Question. It is currently reported here to-day that the Governor, Lord Augustus Loftus, has received a cable message from England stating that the relation between Great Britaiu and Russia are in a critical state.
That war between the two countries is imminent, and that the situation will be decided in a few days. The rumour necessarily requires con* firmation. Sydney, Thursday. The Judge' to-day prohibited the further publication of evidence in the case of Shepherd versus Dibbs, by the Evening News. His Honor deprecated the -action of the paper, which he said was demoralising the public with the prurient details. - Sailied : The Australia, for Auckland. Bbisbane, Thursday.
Ihe Hon. Mr Beli; President of the Legislative Council, will assume the position of Acting-Governor during the absence of His Excellency Sir Arthur Kennedy. .
