The weekly report of the manager is as follows:—" Tunnel level: There is no change in'the drive west on the big reef. Nonpareil cross cut: The ground is much tighter than it has been, in consequence of winch the contractors have given up. We shall now proceed with the rock drill here so as to push forward the work with ell possible despatch. In order to do tbis the 2-inch ttir pipes are being replaced with 2h inch as far as the cross* cut, jind then branch off with the 2-inch. No. 3 reef: A cross-cut wi'l shortly be started from footwa'l ot this reef at tunnel level to pick up Oddfellows' and other leaders, there being a large section of ground in this d<"ection-yet unprospectsd. The drives and stopes on vai iou.9 branches from No. 3 eve without change, and producing payable stuff. Point Russell section : In driving creek level east, the reef is three feet thick, and has shown a few colours of gold. Only part of the reef is being saved, and this sione is of very low grade."—R.
