A TALE OF THE PACIFIC.
Wm. Opperinan, Esq., a wealthy eland '.trader, was for pome months lying ill at": Happemammp, an island of the-Kingsm i Group, in the Pacific. He had been seized with rheumatic fever, which was followed by complicated disorders of a terribly ■ severe nature, assuming the form of a species: of palsy* never before known. The -sufferer's limbs swelled, the legs lost all sensibility to pain; the foot could be wrenched reund or " the skin pierced with a lance without in* dieting the slightest suffering. The sick man . was evidently unconscious of bit baring legs, and bis brain was seriously affected as if with lunacy. In this deplorable state he was kindly .brought from the islands to Auckland by Mr H. Henderson in the schooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, - being a. . German, he was received by the German. Consul, G. Ton der Heyde, Esq., and placed in the District Hospital, where he received treatment for three weeks wilh no indication of improvement, his case being pronounced by one and all a hopeless one. ■ -. The captain of the .Coronet, knowing that extraordinary cures had been effected by the use of HitcLeris' Celebrated Blood Bestorer requested the proprietor of the Blood Restorer - to take the case in hand, and a contract was '" entered into of. "No cure, no pay." Mr Hitchens proceeded- to the' Hospital, ex*. amined the invalid and ■ found him in - an apparently dying state, with scarcely ' a spark of life left. Mr Hitchens ordered tho suffering man to be re* mori'd to his (Mr He) private residence, where his wants could be personally attended to by Mr Hitchens. The latter administered - the medicine (tho Blood Restorer) and used N the ointment freely. Meajiwhilo clergymen culled, | renouncing the cu^e beyond the power of man'to eiTect a cure. However, . after six weeks, tic efleet of tho medicine became'wonderfully apparent. : - , ' \ The .Blood Restorer hud noted steadily but ~ surely en the blood; tlic deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from the system - until the stream of, life flawed unchecked in its natural channels ~over the entire- man. - The brain became clear and active, and the - limbs once again rejoiced in natural circula* tion, the patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of, leading physicians, a living proof of the wonderful healing powers of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Bestorer.
TESTIMONIAL. Auckland, N.Z. To H. A. H. Hitchcns, Esq. . Before leaving Auckland on my return voyage to the Islands, I have to perform the pleaeing duty of acknowledging the surprising cure I have received at your hands. ; Coming to Auckland as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unconscious; and hearing from others that no iiope of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon you now as the preserver of my life. I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a liviug ' man. I beg tq thank you most sincerely for the kindness you. have shewn me while staying in jour house, and in conclusion would earnestly roeoiamcnd sie'e people to use -; your Blood Restorer, as it is the most extraordinary purifier of the blood I.ever heard, of, or met with in my travels, It ief one-of the ' many gopd gifls of a beneficent Creator to his Buffering'clfildren on this earth. .. . • '"W.
