The sum of 300 guinea* has been sent by telegraph to the Lord Mayor of Dublin by the Belief Committee here as the first instalment towards the Irish Relief Fund.
BALCLUTHA.
Last night.
While the reaper was on Mr Jas. Scott's farm at Waiwera yesterday afternoon, the horse in the reaper shied, aud the tilter, a man named Duncan McKenzie, fell on the knife, and his left foot was cut clean off a few inches above the ankle. Dt Earligh, of Clinton, was sent for, and did what was necessary for the sufferer, who is doing as well as can be expected.
