MY LOVE'S LOVE. Is my love's love on the wane now bVg married me P Has my love's love now died out of big breast? Is my love's love on the wane now he'a carried me Softly away to his own little neat ? Perish the thought! for I know he can alter not— Know that I'm dear to him now as before, Know it was true love and know it will falter not, United as long ere this new name I bore. What though he seemeth less fond and affectionate? ' -. What though hi» eye be less courting my smile? _ And on his kind face there may no reflection ■ sit, • .' ... Of joy as I've seen when we!ve met at the ■ ■ stile? • Down in his heart he's the warm-hearted lover yet, Deep and more silent because I'm his own; And marvel I may that I e'er doubted over it— Thought that one jot of endearment had flown. Can I expect him to act as the wooer still* Now that the wooing, the winning is o'er ? Banished such notions, and purer and truer still, My heart beats for him who's my love ever- • more. - Ah, my love's love flows along,as the river flows: • After the rapids the deep moving tide, Quieter than over tha shallows it ever goes, . But gaining in volume from every side. -■ Jas. Simpson, Thames.
