This Company is to be formed for working the (at one time) famous Caledonian Claim; and, as it is necessary for the mine to be worked without delay, the share list will close on the last day of February, 1880. As is shown from the following interesting TALE OF THE PACIFIC! A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Wm. Opperiuan, Eeq., a wealthy island trader,, was for ionic months lying ill at Happemamma, au island of the Kingsmill Group, in the PaciGo. He had been seized with rheumatic fever r which was followed by complicated di-orders of a terribly severe nature, assuming the form of a species of palsy never before known. The sufferer's limbs swelled, the legs lost all sensibility to ' pain; the foot could be wrenched reund or the skin pierced with a lance without inflicting the slightest suffering. The sick man was evidently unconscious of bi« having legs, ■ and his.brain was seriously affected as if with lunaoy. In this deplorable state he was kindly brought from the islands to Aack> land by Mr H. Henderson in the schooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being a German, he iw received by the German , Consul, G. Yon der Heyde, Esq., and placed . in the District Hospital, where* he received . treatment for three weeks with do indication of improvement, his case being pronounced by one and all a hopeless one. -~ The captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary oures had been effected by the - uee of Hitcbens' Celebrated -Blood Restorer requested the proprietor of the Blood Restorer _ to take the case in band, and a contrast was entered into of.
