THIS DAY. (Before H. Kenrick, Esq., E.M.) BBEACH OF LICENSING ACT. Francis Kodewald was charged with a breach of the Licensing Act, by taking from Jane French, a-pair of trowsers^nd a vest in exchauge for liquor. „ Mr Brassey for defendant pleaded not guilty. Mr Kenny applied for a remand till tomorrow, as one of his witnesses did not appear, and he would procure a warrant for his apprehension. Remanded accordingly. ABUSIVE LANGUAGE* Michael Conroy was charged with using obscene and threatening language towards one, Samuel Alexander. Defendant pleaded guilty. He had liquor in him at the time and was very sorry. Fined £3 and costs, or in default one week's imprisonment. CIVIL SIDE. Judgment fob Plaintiffs. In the following cases judgment was given for the plaintiff withi costs;—J. Brown v. M. Driscoll. Claim, 17s, price of tumblers borrowed and not returned, and costs.—Forgie v. Driscoll. Claim, £11 3s 3d, goods and costs. —A. Gillan v. Isaac Johnson. Claim, £2 15s, amount of order and costs. —May v. Johnston. Claim, £4, money lent and costs. ' "W. F. CLAXTON V-. DBIBCOLL. Claim, £5, the value of a suit of clothes supplied. Mr Miller for defendant (who did not appear), and Mr Brassey for plaintiff. Plain.iff proved the case.

By. Mr Miller-When I accepted the order I took it as money. I did not tell Driscoll the order had been dishonoured.

-Mr Miller argued that the only claim Olaiton had was on the order, having accepted it as money. Judgment for plaintiff with costs. Court adjourned.
