HAWERA.

Saturday night. The Hinemoa landed 50 Armed Constabulary at Opunake on Saturday. Colonels Reader and Sifratchley were on board, and went on to New Plymouth in the steamer.

The Constabulary here have finished about; a mile of the road westward of the camp, and Mr Cbeel, who has charge of the survey, is working I just sufficiently ahead of the Constabulary to be within the range of rifles of the covering party. The natives, are constantly coming to the outskirts of the camp with peaches for sale, and Tareari has signified his intention of making a donation of food when the Constabulary reach his settlement at Otakeho.
