This Association in promoted with tfc* * object of securing for its members freehold % farms irt the Waimate Plains (or some other suitable locality) on the moßtfavoable terms and conditions, with a view of supplying to some extent the great and increasing demand for small holdings for bona fide settlement. As soon as the block is decided upon, and the preliminaries arranged, it will be surTe;«d into sections of limited area and apportioned, by lot or otherwise, according to rues to be agreed upon at a general meeting of the sub* scribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum value of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£400) Bterling. lhe Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Associatim such modifications of the land on dfferred-pa>ment clauses of the Land Act, 1677, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating striot compliance with the pro* V sent provisions of* those clauses. The Pro* visional Directors will also endeavor to make provision for ample r. serves for religious, educational, reireation, and public health purposes, as suggested by the.Mini*ter of Lands to the deputation which lately waited, upon the Government with the view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. lhe payments are to be computed on -some wel -defined, liberal, and' easiiy-ut'derstood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less (ban ten (10) years. Eaoh subscribing member wi 1 be required to deposit a sum equul to ten percentum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before his apj luation can be entertained, and a further payment of two percent qm per month on said total value until such time as the blotk to be applied for is acquired by the Assooia* tion, and possession can be given to appli* cants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Govern* ment lor allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two \ ercenium do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application. ' :,-'"-.■,: All monies .received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of ISew Zealand to the Asto* ciation's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority and signature of the Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. . Agents, or Acting-Directors, for th^Asio* ciation will also ;be -appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon as practicable. As soon as, in tbo opinion of the Provisional Directory, a sufficient number of shares are applied foe, a general meeting of.subscribing members will be called for the pur* pote of passing and adopting permanent rules and by-laws or article? of Association for the future guidance of the Association, and also for the election of a permanent Board of Directors aud Management. If the Provisional Directors are unable to make satisfactory arrangements with the Government, or from any other cause they find that they are unable to carry out the scheme suggested by this prospectus, they way return to each subscriber the amount of his subscription with accrued interest, lees, bis share of the expenses or liabilities then incurred. . As it is of the utmost importance and imperatively necessary that no time should be lost in organising the business of the Association, the Provisional Directory therefore stipulate that the list of subscribing iembers should be finally closed not later than. the 31st January, 1880. Terms of proposal and application for shares aud other information connected with the Association may be procured from the Provisional Directors, the Secretary pro Um^ or at the Wellington Working Men's Cludp Lambton Quay.
