Academy of Music.

Bachelder's Pantascope was exhibited at the Academy of Music last evening to a very appreciative audience. The first section presented views of a trip from the Kocky Mouutains to California, giving interesting sketches of the Mormon territory and the wonderful Yosumite Valley with its gigantic trees, waterfalls and cliffs. Chalet, the ventriloquist, requires seeing before any idea can be formed of his wonderful qualities. He introducsd figures representing Billy Wilson, a Dutchman, with an unpronounceable name, Joe, a nigger boy, very fond ofspeaking out of his turn, and a pale-faced lad, Jim. An amusing conversation is carried on in the most natural manner between these figures, introducing several Bongs. The ventriloquist in one of the «ongs takes one part and the nigger boy joins in as naturally as possible. The next section is views of 'Frisco, and the trip to New Zealand, and Sydney, after which the distribution of prizes takes place.^ Some very valuable articles were given away last night, and a similar number will be donated this evening. The descriptive lecture is well delivered by M. Chalet, who occasionally makes some -amusing remarks. The enchanted palace, a beautiful View with,, moving figures brought the entertainment to a close. The Arctic expedition section, so graphically described by bur contemporary as Jaaving been exhibited last night, will not be shown till later in this week*
