The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modifications of the land on deferred-payment clauses of the Land Act, 1677, as may facilitate occupation by hona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those clauses. The Pro*' visional Directors will also endeavor to make provision for ample reserves for religious, eduoational, recreation, and public health, purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with the^ view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. Ihe payments are to be computed on some well-defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalment* extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years.
