Australian Summary.

VICTORIA

Parliament reassembles on January 20th. "

The Opposition are ready to assist the Government in winding up business in view of a speedy dissolution. Stormy scenes are however expected. Electioneering has commenced, and Opposition speakers receive cordial invitations to address public ineeting3 all over the country, and meet with good receptions in towns where two years ago they would not have been allowed on a public platform; even the Government supporters now look upon the two main principles of the Reform Bill as dead, viz , the 6th clause relating to the nominee Chamber, and an indication of enthusiasm for the plebiscite is wanting.
