Sydney, This day. Tl'is Irish ivdlief FundThe sum of £5,500 has been remitted to the Lord Mayor of Dublin as contributions towards the Irish Belief Fund. ThirLy-six Chinese residents in Sydney subscribed together the sum of £il4. In the Legislative Assembly last night the Hon. Jas. Watson, Colonial Treasurer, announced that the Government had no intention to propose additional taxation in lieu of the intended excise duties on Colonial beers and §tobacco recently reje'cled or withdrawn.
