Thames High. School.
A meeting of the new Governors of the High School was held in the Major's room this afternoon.
The Secretary, Mr Heald, read a letter; from tUe Government stating that Messrs Brodie, Brown and Kilgour had been] appointed members of the Board; also from the Borough Council that they had selected Messrs McCullough, Mar*, shall and Speight as their representatives..
On the motion of Mr Brodie, seconded by Mr <- MoCullough, His Worship th« Mayor was elected chairman for the ensuing year, the mover speaking in high terms of Mr Bhrenfried's ability and fitness for the position. The Major' having briefly returned thanks for the honor accorded him, assured the Board that he would do bis utmost to further the interests of the institution.
The minutes of the previous meeting were then read and comfirmed, and the applications for the situations of master and mistress were then opened and considwed. ""•:•-■■■■ .
