MOANATAIRI.
The mine manager's report is as follows:—South crosscut tunnel level baa been extended 15 feet this week, and is now 25 feet from foot wall of big reef. The face is in good settled country heavily charged with mundic and favorable for progress and also reefs. Waitemata crosscut is now repaired home to face, and as soon as tenders for driving 200 feet are accepted, work will be staiied. 150-feet level—The stopes oa the All Nations leader are producing payable stuff here, and also at the 80 feet level. The stopes on No. 3 reef at 80 feet level are improving, and will I think further improve as opened up. Stopes and drive at intermediate and tunnel levels are looking very well. The leader and branches here are so numerous as to form quite a net work, and have to be vigorously followed up. During the~past four weeks 480 tons (including 4|cwt. picked stone) has been treated, yielding 6350zs of retorted gold, inclusive of last return.. Point Russell section—lv driving east at Creek level the reef has been much pinched, 'but quartz is now making, and I think after a few more feet of driving the reejlvvHl greatly improve.—l am, &c, JpBT.
