Smith; Invercargitl, C. E. Ward. General Superintendent, W. J. Dean. The Conference concluded its sittings this afternoon, fiev. J. Ward, of Dunedin, is appointed Connectional Editor, and Rev. D. Dutton and D. Goldie, Esq.» Treasurers. The next conference is to be held in Dunediu, in January, 1881. Connolly, a man at work on the Tramways, and who was arrested last week on suspicion of being implicated in the riots, was discharged to-day by the R.M, as he succeeded in proving that it was a case of mistaken identity. Yesterday. At the recent session of the Primitive District Methodist held here a new system was established providing that one member out of every twenty or fraction of twenty be elected as a representative to the Christchurch meeting, the object being to secure direct church representation.

Among other work done during the session, the District Insurance Fund has been floated for the insurance of Church property in New Zealand.
