OLD WHAU.

The shares of this company have to-day taken a great spurt, they being now quoted at 60a, or an advance of about 18s, per share since yesterday. The cause of this is understood to be the opening up of ncgocialions between the directors and the tributers, in which the former propose to give the latter £200. and 2000 snares in a company of 8000 shares (which it is proposed to form to work the ground), on condition to their resigning their lease of the tribute. It is stated in usually informed circles that the tributers > will be disposed to accept the offer. Mr Gellion, on behalf of the directors, met the tributers'to-day, but the meeting was adjourned without anything definite being arrived at. Tbe tributers are carrying on operations towards the point where the Alburnia run of gold is supposed to enter the ground.
