We conclude our report of the proceedings at the meeting of the Thames County Council yesterday afternoon:— APOLOGIES. The Chairman apologised for the /< absence of Crs Brown and Bagnall. RATES. , . O'Halloran asking that the Council would recoup him for certain moneys he had expended in connection with the ferry at Te Aroha, the total amount being £6 19s. He also drew attention to the unfinished state of the punt, and the necessity of repairing the road. Referred to the Engineer. NEW BOAD BETWEEN WAITEKAUBI AND MACKAYTOWN. A letter was read from E. M. Corbett urging on the Council the desirability of adopting a new route for the WaitekauriMackaytowa road. He had been over it, and " blazed " a line, and could roach for its practicability. Referred to Engineer to report on. OLD TIMBER. James McCormiek wrote offering £2 for the old timber of the Hape Creek tramway. Cr Deeble s&d the tramway '• was useful for foot passengers. Manning wrote stating that he had heard that the Council intended taking up the pipes leading from the main to the Prince Alfred battery. A letter was read from the Parawai Highway District ratepayers accepting the offer of the County;Councilineon* sideration of,the district, continuing in.the County. ' It was resolved that the repairing of the landslip on Parawai road at Mr Bull's ■ property be charged to Parawai riding. THE WATBB-BACB IBON. Cr Greenville moved for a return showing the amount of water-race iron . sold by Mr Carpenter, amount of com* mission paid, etc. • Cr Deeble seconded. Carried. . Cr Greenville moved that the'iron be - moved from the yard where it now lies to the premises of the County Council, and sold by the officers of the Council, and that the necessary notice be given to ( determine the leasejof the present storage allotment. ■ Cr Deeble seconded.'
