Mr Thomas Kadford, manager in'charge of .the mine, sends the following report to hit director*:—l6oft. level, west: Driving has been carried on in this level through a good class of country. A nice, well* defined ipef, heavily charged with good gold-bearing minerals, and showing a little gold whenever broken down. Do. east: Since last report the reef here has greatly improved- We have evidently passed through the broken country, and have how a fine solid reef about two feet in width, and looking well, but no gold h-i( showing yet. 70ft. level east: Stopes \ hate* been carried on giving a few specimens and crushing dirt. Winze No. 2: Contractors in this winze have been ' making but slow progress on account of bad air and hard ground, but the reef has every appearance of being gold* bearing. 70ft. level, west: Driving has been carried on here during the last fortnight, in which period the reef has produced splendid gold, and the same still* showing in the face, with a well-defined* reef three feet. wide. Stopes: Stoping operations have been continued, and a large supply of crushing dirt and picked stone procured, with every. indication of continuance. Foot-wall leader: Driving, , has also been carried on here, the leader increasing in size on being driven^and is now a compact reef 2| feet wide of good payable dirt.

Moanatairi.—The manager retorted to-day, and banked as the result 1730zs ujold. A crushing for Delnhunty and Karty produced loz 6dwts gold.: —Hunter and party banked H)za 16dwts gold.
