23 Blenheim operators haye refused to work on the new system, and are determined to resist the extension of their hours and the abolition of overtime. A deputation waited on the the officer in charge, and requested the payment of their salaries up to the 31st of December, which was refused. The operators allege they will take legal proceedings. The men say they are willing to work the usual hours with the overtime allowances as hitherto. Several of the men" have already received offers of other employment, and some are leaving Blenheim.
